CH Marine was established in the late 1960's; based in Glandore it served the Fishing sector and Commercial Marine market.
It expanded its Fishing Net Manufacture and Commercial Fishing Supplies in the '70s and '80's before it opened a branch in Frankfield, near Cork City, in the early '90's .
This was after it partnered with a net manufacturing and safety at sea company, KTS Sea Safety, in the late 80's in Northern Ireland and before CH Marine Northern Ireland was established in Belfast and Newry, in the '90s.
The Headquarters of CH Marine was re-located to Skibbereen, from Glandore in 2002, where is provides the Retail, Wholesale and Web based provision of Marine Equipment including the the servicing and hiring of safety related products.
In Skibbereen, the Safety at Sea centre of excellence, based at the SOLAS Liferaft and Lifejacket service centre, serves the CH Marine Liferaft Hire Fleet and the re-service facilities to visiting commercial shipping , nationwide , but in particular to the Port of Cork and Foynes Port, in Limerick.
This SOLAS centre is one of only 4 centres in Ireland and is approved to International Marine Organization standards ( IMO ).
CH Marine holds over 60 marine distributorships, for international manufacturing companies, covering Ireland and Europe. Skibbereen is the central distribution centre where it exports many product lines to Europe and Worldwide, made possible by its web based business www.chmarine.com. It is also an ISO 9001:2008 approved company since 2012
